Read, Yes...

for baseball, DUH! Garrett is a pretty good reader now and when he brought home a challenge to read 10 books to earn free tickets to the Grizzly game he was on a mission!  They had 2 weeks to turn in their reading log, Garrett read 3 books that night and 7 the next morning.  Serious business for some baseball tickets!  This kids sports addiction is hilarious.  Whatever works I guess, he loves to read. Garrett got a ball from Brett Pill who was back down from Giants, ran the bases, and got a couple autographs.

Teaching Garrett to ditch school!

The Giants were in town the week after spring break and Dave wanted to take Garrett to a game, so they ditched school and went!  Mark, Carson, and Papa Dave also played hookie for the day.  No secret in hiding where Garrett was going, he started writing in his journal at school about the game a month before the event! The day of the game was the same day the kindergartner's were taking the graduation pictures.  Garrett's teacher asked if we could run him by the school before Dave left for the game to have his picture taken.  Garrett's response, "but then we need to leave because we already have the tickets!"  He was determined that he wasn't going to miss the game for some pictures!

The boys had a great time at the game and the Giants killed the other team.

Cousin Nick's Bowling Party

Nick turned 7 this year...time flies!  He had a bowling party and Garrett and Gannon were excited to bowl.  We have been bowling a few times in the recent months and they love it.  The bowling alley in Modesto is nicer than the one in Atwater so Dave, Taylor, and I enjoyed the game too.

Nick was having fun with his friends (even though this isn't a great picture)!

A's vs Mariners

As I mentioned Garrett is a HUGE sports fan, if his team is not in town, he's fine to attend any other sporting event.  So over break when the Giants weren't in town we decided the A's playing the Mariners would be fun too!

He was all set in his fan gear from our trip to Seattle last year and Gannon got a new A's shirt at Old Navy on the way.  As you can see from the pictures Garrett is very into the game, Gannon is very into playing with me!  It was a fun game, but don't ask me what happened, ask Garrett!

Golden State Warriors

Garrett is our sports fan.  He loves baseball, hockey, football, and now basketball.  While on our mini vacation Dave took him to a Warriors game with Papa Dave.  Garrett's first basketball game he was amazed how high the score got.  He is now a fan of basketball!  He enjoyed the game and his "man time", spoiled by Papa buying him a hat too.  The Warriors won the game and he was of course excited about that.

Gannon and I stayed at the hotel because watching a sporting even with Gannon is not as fun, especially a night game.  He loves his sleep as much as I do so we stayed at the hotel for a bubble bath and early nights rest.

Happy Hallow

We have taken the boys to Happy Hallow Zoo and Park in San Jose once before and it was lots of fun.  We planned a mini vacation over Spring Break and this was one of our outings.  Gannon was little the last time we went so he was able to enjoy the trip a little more this time, riding bigger rides and playing on the three story play structure.  San Jose had a different break than us so it wasn't too crowded until the later afternoon when we were ready to head out.  Perfect weather and it was a great day!
