Gannon's in blankie training!

Gannon has had the thumb sucking thing down for a while now, but just like his big brother likes a blanket too. Garrett was nice enough to share one of his little blankets this morning, but we had to go to the blankie store and pick one up just for Gannon. Garrett is very aware of which things are his and which are Gannon's so we had to be careful to pick a color Garrett doesn't already have, so Gannon gets red! Pictures of Gannon's blanket to follow.

Chores!

Garrett is so funny. He loves to feed the cats every day and gets very frustrated when you try to help - he can do it - didn't you know!!! For some time he has been a big help picking up the cat bowls when he is done and now he even needs to rinse them for us. WOW lets take advantage of him doing chores as long as we can. I'm sure that will all change soon!

Oakland Zoo

Last weekend we decided at the last minute to take the boys over to the Oakland Zoo for the day. The weather was perfect and Garrett had a great time counting animals and still remembers that the tiger went poo poo! He is a such a fun age and we can almost understand everything he is trying to say. And of course, Gannon was a trooper!

Our longest lived toy!!!

We've been through crayons, play-doh, bubbles, puzzles, books, of course Barney, and the winner is the vacuum. Back when Garrett was crawling I would vacuum the entire house with him crawling right behind me to get the vacuum. I never had to wonder where he was when it was time to clean the house! So last May Grandma bought Garrett his very own Hoover vacuum. It was a mini version of moms with a light, hose attachments and even the noise. Thank goodness we are way past the days of having to do everything with his vacuum on, but as most of you know he is not a huge fan of toys and still loves his vacuum. If he is not having a good day or you just need to kill some time the vacuum is always there to rescue the day! We buy C batteries in bulk because it would be a sad day if the vacuum broke.

Aleicia's Baby Shower

My mom and I threw a baby shower for my best friend (since high school) today. We are so excited for Baby Aaron to get here and now Aleicia and Aaron are all ready for him. The shower turned out so good even in the heat storm we are having this weekend.

Gannon is 4 Months!

Gannon is 4 months old today. I can't believe how much he has grown and changed. After my last post about him sleeping so great and our Shell Beach vacation he started to wake up again during the night. I was really thinking this wasn't fair, but now that he has two little teeth popping up in the front I see why. Poor little guy has been in pain for about a week and a half, but they have both broke the skin so last night he slept much better (and so did I).

His little body is strong enough for his big toy.
He likes to rub his tongue over his gums and new teeth

Yeah, he lifts his head and will roll to one side from his tummy.

Yay the thumb!!!

Gannon has been trying so hard to get his thumb and he got it! He has been pretty consistent on getting his hand in his mouth, but wasn't able to keep it steady. Yeah, we don't have to mess with pacifiers anymore.

Garrett's First Piñata Experience

Cousin Allison had her 6th birthday party this weekend and Garrett had a blast. He of course loves bubbles that were in the treat bag. He never amazes me when he finds funny things to play with, first he found a broom but quickly replaced that with a little shovel. Daddy taught him how to get worms from the ground and bring them to me and Papa - thanks Dave just what we wanted! He even found an old John Deere ride on toy that was behind a little fence and really wanted to play with it - so he went ahead and jumped the little fence. I went looking for him and a little girl said, "do you know that little boy, he just jumped the fence and fell on the other side" He obviously didn't get hurt, because he got right up and found his way over the the toy he wanted. WOW - scary!!!! He didn't quite understand the pinata at first but once the candy came out he was pretty excited.

Gannon's Shell Beach Trip

Gannon and I went to Shell Beach for a few days to join Dave at State Finals. It was great to visit with Grandma Toni, Aunts Shannon and Heather, Uncle Juan and cousin Karley. Gannon was such a great little traveler. Well, we did only make it to Chowchilla on the way down before having to stop, but after that we were set. Gannon and I went shopping one day and he was such a little trooper. He was good in the car and at the mall while I tried on clothes!!! He even was flirting with a few little old ladies - so cute!

Gannon taking a little rest in mommy's bed - he looks like he is on vacation!
