Colorful Eggs

One of my favorite parts of Easter is dyeing the eggs.  The boys love it too!

Side story - there is a reason people have been boiling eggs forever, baking them does not work!  I found a like of Pinterest that said to bake them.  It made sense so I thought I'd try it.  When you try something new do it with a small batch - not 2 dozen eggs!  The cooking part was fine, it was the peeling part that was a nightmare!  NEVER AGAIN....boil the dang eggs!  Anyway, the baked eggs colored just fine, then went in the trash!  (Didn't try to peel until the next day)

Back to the fun part...dyeing! Garrett and Gannon are now old enough to not throw or drop the eggs in the color and are patient in waiting for them to get good color.  We have a game with a timer so that was helpful.  It's amazing how long the eggs take to prepare and it takes all of about 10 minutes to get them dyed.

Lots of pretty eggs!

Opening Day

Opening day is a LONG challenging day!  The test of all your patience!  Out the door at 7:45 in the morning to head to opening ceremony, pictures at 11 and game at 1 o'clock.  Oh and did I mention Dave is gone for all this!

Both boys were very excited and looked so CUTE in their uniforms.  Garrett was awesome all day and Gannon had a few melt downs.  After being on the little league field with his team (and without me) for an hour he cried as they were coming off and wanting NOTHING to do with taking pictures!  After many attempts the team picture was minus Gannon!  The photographers were great and encouraged us to stop back by later to try for his picture later.

They had their first game on opening day too.  Gannon did pretty good during the game, he's #1 on the bench and Garrett is #8.  Both boys batted and ran the bases perfect.  You can see in the pictures how serious Garrett took running the bases.  The pictures also show how "into" defense Gannon was, dirt is WAY cooler.

After the game we tried again for pictures.  We tried to get Gannon to use an orange bat, but the only way he would take a picture was with the purple bat...whatever! We did get cute pictures of him and Garrett together too.

T Ball Practice

This year Gannon is old enough to join Garrett on his Tball team.  This was their first practice and Garrett the avid baseball fan that he was very excited...Gannon on the other hand was not really!  The plus for Garrett was that he knew what to expect, same coach and many of the players from last year, and same practice location.  Consistency and predictability is key with this kid!  Gannon was good because his brother was there!  Garrett did not start playing until he was 5 and Gannon being only 4 is a little challenge, but since he's on the same team we went for it.  The first practice went well for the most part, Gannon "finished" a little early and needed to reload his fuel tank so he started his dinner a little before practice ended.  Since practice ended at 6 and to save my sanity I packed a picnic to eat at the end.  I have learned a few tricks in my 6 years as a Mom that just make life easier!
