To Infinity and Beyond
Garrett is totally obsessed with Toy Story and had his little heart set on being Buzz Lightyear for Halloween. Last week UPS delivered a package and Garrett was so excited. Here is the preview. The next night my books were delivered and Garrett swore it was another Buzz Lightyear!

Gannon's First Tooth
Gannon's first tooth popped through this weekend. Look out that sucker is sharp. Just like Garrett, he didn't really have any symptoms of teething which is good. Poor little guy, that has to hurt.
Soldier Update
I feel very behind on this update, but here you go.
We all have heard how stupid our Merced Hosiptal is and I have never had that experience, till now. The actual experience of the ER (two nights in a row) actually wasn't too bad. The wrong diagnosis on the other hand was pretty stupid. After our doctor read Garrett's report from the hospital and confirming with the radiologist, there is NO fracture! She removed Garrett's splint and he was good to go. It did take him sleeping that night before he would actually use the arm, but he is good now! Relief - a cast for 6 weeks would have totally sucked!
Gannon and I are no longer sick and that is also a huge relief. Sick Mommy and baby is not a good combination! Garrett did have a little bug this weekend, but we are all better.

Our Wounded Soldiers
Gannon woke up Friday night around 11 with a temp of 103.8 and wouldn't keep any medicine down. Dave swore he had purple skin before he went to bed so after debating for a hour week took him to the ER just to confirm he was okay. And he was. Well, other than a common cold. So he hasn't been quite up to speed the last couple of days.
Garrett, Gannon and I were walking up the stairs yesterday and I was holding Garrett's hand and he stepped down a step which pulled his arm. I heard a snap so quickly called Dave freaking out! He had me check his shoulders and bones and nothing looked out of place or swollen. He came home from cooking at a fundraiser and Garrett was still not wanting to move that arm or use it at all. So off to the ER Garrett and I go again to have him checked out. He does have a hairline fracture in him arm so we returned home with a temporary splint and he will have a hard cast put on this week. Poor guy. The real bad news is the thumb he sucks belongs to the arm that is hurt so he didn't want to raise his hand to his mouth after it was hurt. This would be a great time to break the habit, but poor guy loves his thumb so the next few days could be a challenge. I told Dave I won't be surprised if he wants a purple cast!!!

Go Nannon
"Go Nannon" as Garrett would say. Gannon is eight months old now and is really starting to explore his physical strengths.
Earlier this week Gannon woke from his nap and pulled himself up on his crib railing and I heard a thud - he let go and his head his the railing. Poor little guy.
This morning he was playing on the floor and I look over and there he was sitting up. He has been sitting for quite some time if we put him in that position, but now he can get there all on his own.
It's only been two years since Garrett started to explore, but I forgot that with the world of exploration comes lots of bumps, bruises and cries!!!

Attention All Teachers...
If any our of teacher friends needs a guest reader for the day Garrett could fill in. No he can't read, but he pretends very well. Yesterday he was reading a story and after reading each page he turned the book in his hand, like teachers do, to fan the picture of the page to me and Gannon. He makes me laugh all the time. My little sponge! It's great to know he pays attention to Ms. Stephanie at school. When we read at home he is always sitting next to us so of course we don't do the fanning thing.

Garrett's latest
Garrett's new thing is to ride this horse, love the imagination! He really wants Gannon to ride behind him which is super cute. Gannon on the other hand only agrees for a minute and he wants his ride to be over which makes Garrett really mad.
We visiting Grandpa & Grandma Ingalls last weekend and he gave Garrett a little tractor and trailer and I don't know what we would have played with all week without it. Garrett loads up all the Wonder Pets and Toy Story figurines and his little Buzz is the driver. He is so funny, one morning I saw him looking all over for something and I asked him what he was looking for and he said, "where's little Buzz?" I guess he doesn't let anyone else drive the tractor!

He's So Close
This last week Gannon has been going from the sitting position, rocking forward and getting on his hands and knees. Each day he gets a little better so I would say we are in trouble very soon. Check him out...

Daddy's Name
Garrett was so funny tonight. We were getting him out of the bath and Dave was checking something on the computer. Garrett walked over to him and said, "Come on Dave." The whole time we were putting him to bed he just kept repeating Dave, Dave. I guess he is on a first name basis now. Daddy has been replaced by Dave! The things they say I swear.
Thanks Grandma & Aunt Taylor
As I mentioned last week, Garrett loves to dress up in his costumes so Grandma made him his very own Wonder Pets cape and Woody vest and thanks to Aunt Taylor he now has a holster and Woody hat too. His two favorites. Don't be surprised if you see us out and about with one of these outfits on!!!
A little history lesson
Sunday we spent the day in Coloma and Placerville. Coloma is where James Marshall first discovered gold in California. I'm not the biggest history buff, but Dave loves it. I did really like the tour of the mine in Placerville and Garrett thought the "tunnel" was great. The little old lady didn't seem to believe us that Garrett would want to wear a hard hat for the tour so she wouldn't give him one. Well guess what, Daddy lost his to the little man! There were a couple tipi's in Coloma and Garrett was so funny, he went and stood in the door way of one and said, "picture Daddy?" I guess he is getting the hang of posing! It was so cute. It's a good thing they don't have camera's in the mine or Dave would have been busted screwing around in the ore cart...don't watch Daddy Garrett! It was another fun day for the Gossman Family.
Apple Hill
While on our camping trip we spent a day on Apple Hill. Our favorite apple farm was High Hill Farm. Garrett had a great time with all the activites, face painting, hay ride, pony ride, and trout pond. It was opening weekend for most of the apples farms so they had lots of craft vendors onsite and activities for the little ones. This farm just happened to have a winery in the back so during Gannon's nap we headed back for a quick wine tasting! It was a great day.
Trailer Times
This weekend we loaded up the trailer and headed to Shingle Springs. We had another great camping weekend and am happy to say that we don't have any funny trailer mishaps to report. Well actually two come to mind. It was a bit chilly in the morning on Saturday so I decided to fire up the heater only to quickly turn it right back off. We need to give the heater a good blowing out with the windows open because it's so new that the smell set the smoke alarm off again. Good to know that thing works! Second mishap was on the way home as we are driving on the freeway Dave noticed the window flapping in the wind. I guess we forgot to close that one good so we had to pull over on the freeway so I could go close it tight. Other than that, just good fun memories in the making.
It is so fun to watch Garrett play and use his imagination especially when he is playing with the rocks by the trailer, you never know what a rock can turned into!

Another camping weekend
Well we made it to our second adventure spot - Shingle Springs. Sorry, no great stories to report! We got to the correct space with no extra excitement this time. Kids are all tucked in and we are off to bed! Watch for pictures of our "Apple Hill" adventures.
