Scrapbook Retreat

I started attending crops back in May thanks to my friend Rebekah for connecting me with a great group of scrapbook ladies.  It is so nice to be able to go and spread out all my stuff and just focus on my scrapbook.  I am not able to do this at home because Garrett is very into projects and is quick with scissors!  Anyway, I was invited to join the group for a scrapbook retreat that happened to be on my birthday and through that weekend.  After thinking it over and talking to Dave, I decided I would go.

The retreat was at a nice cabin in Twain Harte and was AWESOME!!!! Not only did I complete 43 double page spreads, I also had meals prepared for me the entire weekend! What a treat.  It was so nice to set all our stuff up on Friday afternoon and literally sit and scrapbook for 17 hours on Saturday!  Not to mention the time on Friday and Sunday.

I look forward to making this an annual event!

Potato Head Pumpkins

Grandma brought Garrett and Gannon some Mr. Potato Head costumes for pumpkins so when Garrett's friend from school invited the class over to pick pumpkins he was very excited.  Garrett and Gannon each got to bring a pumpkin home from the field trip and Garrett went straight to decorating his pumpkin.

After dinner we decided to take the boys on a wagon walk and of course the pumpkins had to come too.  Garrett put the nicely in his shopping cart and off we went.  He was very serious to push them carefully around the neighborhood!

All ready to go

Gannon was so confused - trying to figure out what the heck his brother was doing.

Comfort of Home!

I started back to work mid September with an all new career which meant the boys went back to daycare.  For the first couple of weeks every afternoon when we got home Gannon ran around saying uuummm (SP?) until we would get the vacuum out.  I guess the vacuum is a comfort sound to him.  Go figure!

Sock Hop

To celebrate Gateway EduCares 5th Anniversary they had a Sock Hop and Car Show.  When we left school today Garrett wanted to play with all the balloons that were on the floor and I explained that they were for the party.  At dinner we asked Garrett if he wanted to go to the dance with balloons, the football game, or the park.  Duh, he picked the dance with the balloons.

The kids had a great time running around, but Gannon was ready to go after about and hour.  Which was perfect because it was bath time.

Enjoying all the balloons

Yeah the song is over!

Open Cockpit

Castle Air Museum has an open cockpit day so Dave took the boys to check it out.  I didn't go so I don't really have much to say about it except that the boys had fun.  Dave said they spent an hour in the bounce house.  Gannon loves to jump around and doesn't care that the big kids knock him over, he just gets right back up.

the {kakery} Friend's and Family Night and More

One of my best friends has made her dream a reality! Kendra and her husband Matt have opened the {kakery} in Atwater.  It was fun helping her get the place ready to open and now it's open and time to enjoy her goodies!

Kendra has made lots of cakes for me that many of you may have enjoyed - Garrett's Barney cake, Garrett's Mickey Mouse cake, Pig/Cow cake for the ag booster dinner auction, Aleicia's baby shower cake, and Bob and Virginia's 50th Anniversary Cake.

She hosted a Friend's and Family Night so we took the boys for a little treat.  As always, it was awesome.

visit her blog at thekakery-atwater.blogspot.com or better yet go visit her at the {kakery}!!!

Cheers to Kendra for living her dream!
Gannon car jacked Kendra and Matt's nephew's car!
On the opening day I brought cupcakes home for the boys - Garrett licked his and then stared at it!
Gannon dove right in!

And left nothing but crumbs!!!

Mariposa Fair

We just can never get enough fair in our house! For years we have talked about going up to the Mariposa Fair, but we are usually gone over the holiday weekend.  Since this year we didn't have anything going on, well in the way of vacation anyway!, we decided to head up the hill.

Gannon loves animals and has learned most of the names and sounds they make so he had a great time checking out the animals.  Who cares that the turkey was a duck to him! It actually sounds more like cluck when he says it.

Gotta get a pig shot

Garrett loves the sheep the most!

Garrett riding the pony, Gannon refused.
Garrett actually rode the dragon rollercoaster for the first time and Gannon was too small so we held him on the side while he threw a HUGE fit because he couldn't ride.  Just like his Mommy!
