Easter Basket's

The Easter Bunny delivered the boys baskets to Gannon's closet and since he was the last one up Garrett had to wait a bit for his basket. I'll sent a memo to the Easter Bunny next year! Garrett had no clue he was waiting for something so it really didn't matter. He was very excited when he saw the baskets on the coffee table. He look at us and said "wow, what's that?"

Garrett has been carrying around the little blue basket since Thursday when he came home form school with eggs. He of course wouldn't use the different basket so he has to transfer all his new eggs to the little basket. In his basket was a new movie, "Jungle Book" so we'll see how long it takes for him to want to watch the new movie.
Gannon was excited to get a new Gossie book and we were too! Something new to read.

Gannon's News

Gannon has finally taken to drinking from a sippy cup - trick was that he wanted the same kind as his brother. No stupid starter cups here! So we have replaced the bottles for most of his drinks and will hopefully be all the way there soon. This guy really has to do things when he is ready as that has been his pattern since birth. Ate when he wanted to, a month after trying, stopped formula two months after trying, and the cup was about two months after trying. Whatever!

Gannon has always been quite the little eater, but now he will no longer eat food off his high chair tray. He needs a plate and silverware. Look out if you are sitting next to him. Flying food! If his food falls off his plate he will pick it up and put in on the plate for just a second then proceed to eating the same piece. Funny guy.

Sippy cup sighting
Gannon loves to go to Daddy's work because there are goats in the pole barn. He didn't even mind falling in the soiled dirt and proceeded to scoot on his knees closer to the goats. YUCK!

Gannon has caught on to talking on the phone so when he grabs it and I saw hello he quickly puts it up to his ear - or behind his head - same thing!

Coloring Eggs

Garrett was pretty excited to color eggs this year. I didn't have enough vinegar for each cup so I used a cider vinegar that I had and I don't think it worked as well. As you can see below our colors are very dull. Plus 3 minutes is a really long time for Garrett to wait to pull his eggs back out. It was fun. Next year Gannon will be dyeing eggs too. Look out!

All ready for Garrett to start

Smile please - how's that!
All done.

Our Little Bookworm

In this past week Gannon has turned into quite the bookworm. Any time I sit indian style of the floor he grabs a book and brings it over to me, hands me the book, and turns around to sit in my lap so I can read it. Once the first book is done he quickly looks for another one and if there isn't one in reach he wants the same book again. Just keep reading! Gossie is his favorite, but also loves, Goodnight Moon, Are you my Mother, and The Nose Book. He is so smart I will ask him to bring a certain book and sure enough he picks the correct one and brings it over. We love to read at our house so lets hope this habit sticks!!!

A Visit with the Greats!

Grandpa and Grandma Ockler came down to visit for a couple of weeks so the boys and I went up to Modesto for a quick visit and lunch. These are the boys Great Grandparents so it's fun for them to see each other. Grandpa gave each of the boys a dollar and Gannon wasn't shy to accept, Garrett on the other hand wouldn't take his. We went to grab a sandwich for lunch and the boys had more fun running up and down the hallway so we had to take our crazies outside to run off some steam before the drive home.

Happy Birthday Cousin Nicholas

Cousin Nicholas turns 4 so there of course was a party! Grandma and Cindy had a great party for Nicholas and the boys had so much fun. Garrett was in love with these styrofoam gliders that Cindy had bought for the kids to play with and Gannon was just interested in exploring. It was a very nice day so being outside was so nice.

I wasn't worried about trying to put Garrett down for a nap when we got home since bedtime was in just a couple of hours. As I was making dinner this is what happened! All the excitement wore him out, but let me tell you this little power nap didn't do much for him. He was a SUPER grouchy when he woke up from his power nap. Now I remember why he still takes naps - he needs them!!!

Taylor's 21st Birthday!

I can't believe my little sister is 21! Taylor wanted to go on a 3-day cruise to celebrate her birthday so Kendra and I joined her and some friends. We had a great relaxing time. We didn't encounter and native with machine guns when we got off the ship in Mexico so that was good! Instead of doing the traditional Papa's and Beer day in Ensenada we bought wrist bands to the place across the street ~ Mango Mango! $20 all you can drink, can't beat that! Mango Mango had a few of the same things a Papa's and Beer without all the crazy people and obnoxious staff.

On the last day Kendra and I spent the day doing all that we could on the ship, we watched the Hairy Man Contest by the pool, couple rounds of Bingo, Vegas style show, comedy, and a little dancing at the club with the gang.

The weather was great, drinks were good, and Taylor had a great time which is really at that mattered.
