A Tent, Really!

One of the items we picked up at the toy store for Gannon's birthday was a bed tent.  It's really hard to pick out a toy that only Gannon would play with and since Christmas just past we really didn't need another toy!  So I thought both boys would enjoy a bed tent since they love the tent to be set up in the living room.  I had no idea that this would do the trick for Garrett to sleep on the top part of his trundle!!!

Garrett was only 18 months old when he started sleeping in his big boy bed so we had him start sleeping on the pull out trundle.  I had no idea this would last 2 1/2 years! Although I should have know, Garrett is a creature of habit.  We set the tent up and asked him if he wanted to try sleeping in it.  Dave thought I was crazy and there would be no way he would sleep all night in it.  Much to our surprise he is on night 9 sleeping in the tent.  He actually seems to sleep longer in the morning in this tent too!  Crazy, but hey whatever works right!

Trailer Big Boy Bed

Our trip to San Luis Obsipo for Thanksgiving week was Gannon's first time sleeping in the "big boy" bed in the trailer.  He was very excited to sleep in a bed just like Garrett's.  He of course did awesome and slept just like he does at home - forever!  Gannon is in love with sleep and typically sleeps an hour in the morning past Garrett when he is not woken up.  He was no different in the trailer.  The back of the trailer with curtain separation will stay "his" are for this very reason. 

It was so nice to have a lot more space without the pack n play.  Garrett and Gannon were even more excited that they had a play area.  It was in desperate need of  a rug so we ventured to Wally World to see what we could find.  The cheapest big run was a Cars 2 rug and how perfect is that! Pretty perfect in Garrett's eyes!!! Win, Win. 

A Day of Celebration

This year we decided not to do big parties for the boys and instead we bought tickets to Disney on Ice between the two dates.  I still wanted to do a little something for them so for Gannon's special day we started with a cinnamon roll with a candle to sing him Happy Birthday. 

We then headed to Modesto to the toy store to pick up a little something - thank goodness he is still at the age that he didn't mind that we procrastinated and didn't have something already! The boys (including Dave) have a great time roaming around the toy store.

We then head to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate with Grandpa, Grandma, George,Ashleigh and Syenna.  The boys (again, all of them) had a great time playing.  Dave found his game that paid the most tickets and won around 900 tickets, a balloon for Garrett and a shirt for Gannon.  I have to say Chuck E. Cheese is a great play for a birthday lunch.  They are even so great to allow you to bring in a cake, keep it in the freezer, and provide a knife to cut it.  Even when you don't pay to have a party with them.  I think this is great.  Right up their with Disneyland allowing you to bring in food!

For round 2 of "mini parties", Grandma or MaMa as Gannon would say, Papa, and Great Grandpa came over for sandwiches and cake.  Gannon loved that he was getting a second ice cream cake!  Great Grandpa gave him a musical card and he was cracking up every time he opened it!  Gannon loves cars so the cars MaMa and Papa got for him were perfect!

Happy 2nd Birthday Gannon!!!

I can't believe our baby is 2 years old today!  We are SO blessed with this little guy.  He is full of personality and smiles.  Gannon is quiet the talker these days.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Gannon.

One More Day of Christmas

Our tradition with my Dad and Dianne is to have Christmas on the 26th.  George, Ashleigh, Syenna, and my Grandparents also come over to celebrate.  The boys are very comfortable at Grandpa's house and had a great time.  Gannon was more focused on the Polar Express this year than anything else.  Garrett had a great time with Grandma and I had fun showing off our family scrapbooks with my Grandma and her sister.

Christmas Morning

We woke the boys up around 7:30, (I will enjoy this for a few more years until they are waking up at 4 on their own) and they were very excited that Santa had been to our house!  Garrett's Santa present was a Leapster Explorer and Gannon got a new kitchen!  Okay the kitchen really is loved and played with by both boys.  Gannon really is still at the age that he cares more for the wrapping!  Garrett just wanted to go around the room an open anyone's presents.
