Garrett's First PiƱata Experience

Cousin Allison had her 6th birthday party this weekend and Garrett had a blast. He of course loves bubbles that were in the treat bag. He never amazes me when he finds funny things to play with, first he found a broom but quickly replaced that with a little shovel. Daddy taught him how to get worms from the ground and bring them to me and Papa - thanks Dave just what we wanted! He even found an old John Deere ride on toy that was behind a little fence and really wanted to play with it - so he went ahead and jumped the little fence. I went looking for him and a little girl said, "do you know that little boy, he just jumped the fence and fell on the other side" He obviously didn't get hurt, because he got right up and found his way over the the toy he wanted. WOW - scary!!!! He didn't quite understand the pinata at first but once the candy came out he was pretty excited.

Gannon's Shell Beach Trip

Gannon and I went to Shell Beach for a few days to join Dave at State Finals. It was great to visit with Grandma Toni, Aunts Shannon and Heather, Uncle Juan and cousin Karley. Gannon was such a great little traveler. Well, we did only make it to Chowchilla on the way down before having to stop, but after that we were set. Gannon and I went shopping one day and he was such a little trooper. He was good in the car and at the mall while I tried on clothes!!! He even was flirting with a few little old ladies - so cute!

Gannon taking a little rest in mommy's bed - he looks like he is on vacation!

YEAH... 11 Hours

Last night was Gannon's first night sleeping 11 hours - 7 to 6!!! We have had a few 10 hour nights which are great, but I'll take 11. I have to say we have been very blessed with great sleepers. Dave is very excited to not have to stay up for his 10:30 feeding time anymore, as if that is so late...especially now that baseball is on till 10. Keep up the good sleeping Gannon!!!

Sunday with Mom

Dave is still down in Fresno for State Conference so it was me and the boys today. Garrett started the day with a video of Barney, which we actually haven't watched in a while. I am getting a little braver with both boys so we ventured to Target to pick up a few things and I thought it would be fun to let Garrett paint with water colors so we grabbed some colors. I didn't explain too much of what there were so he would not fight taking his nap. Grandma and Grandpa brought sandwiches over for lunch and then it was off to naps. Garrett usually wakes up about and hour before Gannon, but not today so we had to wait for Gannon to finish his bottle before painting. Garrett loves to color with crayons and markers so I thought he would like the paint and he did! He didn't quite understand that the brush had to go in the water then the color then the paper. He like to put just water on the paper and then paint in the water - whatever. He managed to paint three sheets of paper over a 30 minute period. I'm sure he'll remember where I put the colors and ask for them again soon. Well both boys are fast asleep so I guess I go enjoy some adult tv now, like Oprah recordings from this week - fun. See ya...

What a project

Oh yeah Dave - thanks for the Barney shirt - he had to wear it today! I tried to switch it for a different one and he wasn't going to be fooled!!!

Vintage Days

Dave's contest this week was in Fresno and Vintage Days was also being held at Fresno State so the boys and I took a drive down to Fresno to spend the afternoon with Dave. The drive was good – both boys fell asleep on the way down and on the way home. Dave and Garrett went in the little petting zoo. Garrett is so funny, half the time he is scared of dogs, but has not problem being stuck in a pen full of farm animals. I guess that’s good since he is an ag teachers child and better get used to the pigs! It was actually really warm in the sun and it wasn’t even 90 degrees yet – I wish it would stay in the 80’s all summer. I don’t think I’m ready for the 100 degree weather, but I guess I don’t really have a choice. I can’t believe only 1 more contest and the 2009 judging season is over, unless they win State of course. I swear every year it goes by faster. I remember the first year Dave and I were dating and it was the hardest five months. I thought it would never end and then I married this crazy busy life!!! I love you sweetheart, but I love you home!

Yes, we let our child play in this germ infested water! At least we washed his hands and arms before he started sucking his thumb!
Garrett had to color a bookmark!
What a cute baby pig - too bad they get so big and stinky!

Gannon had a great time and look a picture that's not taken in the stroller!

Avila Beach

Easter morning we took the boys down to Avila Beach so Garrett could play in the sand. There is a great park just before the beach that has sand so we tried to play there, but Garrett was much more interested in playing on the real beach - can you blame the poor kid. Dave took him down on by the water and came back to switch off boys and Garrett and I headed back. As soon as he saw me take my flip flops off he wanted to put his toes in the sand! We ran back up to the park to grab Dave and Gannon and headed back down by the water. He loves to play with his bucket and shovel.

Easter Day at Grandma Toni's

We had lunch with Dave's mom and sisters for Easter and Grandma Toni had a little Easter Egg hunt in her backyard for Garrett. Gannon hung out with Uncle Juan to give him a little brush up on his baby skills since he and Heather are expecting in September.

All the blue eyes of the family - sorry daddy. Don't ask me what is wrong with my eye, I swear I'm falling apart. I didn't even notice the red bump till Monday morning. Whatever!
